At its 12th plenary meeting, on 3 July 2006, the Economic and Social Council adopted the agenda of its substantive session of 200610 and approved the proposed programme of work of the session.11 At the same meeting, on the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations, the Council approved the requests made by non-governmental organizations to be heard by the Council at its substantive session of 2006, under agenda item 2.12
