At its 35th plenary meeting, on 21 July 2006, the Economic and Social Council:

(a) Decided that the 2007 regular session of the Committee would be held from 22 January to 2 February 2007 and its resumed session from 14 to 18 May 2007;

(b) Approved the provisional agenda and documentation for the 2007 session of the Committee as set out below:

Election of officers.

Adoption of the agenda and other organizational matters.

Applications for consultative status and requests for reclassification received from nongovernmental organizations:

Applications for consultative status and requests for reclassification deferred from the previous session of the Committee;

New applications for consultative status and new requests for reclassification;

Applications of non-governmental organizations in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council which have merged with other non-governmental organizations.

Quadrennial reports submitted by non-governmental organizations in general and special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council:

Deferred quadrennial reports submitted by non-governmental organizations in general and special consultative status with the Council;

Review of quadrennial reports submitted by non-governmental organizations in general and special consultative status with the Council.

Strengthening of the Non-Governmental Organizations Section of the Secretariat.
