At its 222nd meeting, on 9 December 194 7, the Council took note of the letter dated 2 December 1947 from the representative of the United States of America addressed to the President of the Security Council concerning the conducting of experiments relating to nuclear fission on Eniwetok Atoll in the Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands 26 and decided to defer consideration of the matter until it received from the Committee of Experts the report that it had requested at its 220th meeting (see above).
