Security Council Resolution 239 (1967) [on the Recruitment and Training of Mercenaries in the Democratic Republic of the Congo]
Reaffirms in particular paragraph 2 of Security Council resolution 226 (1966) of 14 October 1966;

Condemns any State which persists in permitting or tolerating the recruitment of mercenaries, and the prOiision of facilities to them, with the objective of overthrowing the Governments of States Members of the United Nations;

Calls uponGovernments to ensure that their territory and other territories under their control, as well as their nationals, are not used for the planning of subversion, and the recruitment, training and transit of mercenaries designed to overthrow the Government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo ;
4
Decides tha,t the Security Council shall remain seized of the question ;
5
Requeststhe Secretary-General to follow closely the implementation of the present resolution.
Dech{ion At its 1372nd meeti~g, on 8 November 1967, the Council decided toinvite the representatives of the Deil1ocr~tic Republic of the Congo, Portugal, Burundi_, Zatn~1a and Algeria to participate, without vote, in

crutement, de l'entrainement ou du transit de mercenaires en vue de renverser le Gouvernement de la Republique democratique du Congo; de la question; mise en ceuvre de la presente resolution.
