Security Council Resolution 199 (1964) [on the Withdrawal of Mercenary Troops From the Democratic Republic of the Congo]
QUESTIONS RELATIVES A LA RÉPUBLIQUE DÉMOCRATIQUE DU CONGO
Décisions

Requestsail States to refrain or desist from intervening in the domestic affairs of the Congo ;

Appealsfor a cease-fire in the Congo in accordance with the resolution of the Organization of African Unity dated 10 September 1964;
3
Considers, in accordance with that same resolution, that the mercenaries should as a matter of urgency be withdrawn from the Congo;
4
Encouragesthe Organization of African Unity to pursue its efforts to help the Govemment of the Democratic Republic of the Congo to achieve national reconciliation in accordance with the above-mentioned resolution of the Organization of African Unity;
5
Requestsall States to assist the Organization of African Unity in the attainment of this objective;
6
Requeststhe Organization of African Unity, in accordance with Article 54 of the Charter of the United Nations, to keep the Security Council fully informed of any action it may take under the present resolution;

Requeststhe Secretary-General of the United Nations to follow the situation in the Congo and to report to the Security Council at the appropriate time.

Demande à tous les Etats de s'abstenir ou de cesser

Lance un appel en vue d'un cessez-le-feu au Congo en conformité de la résolution de l'Organisation de l'unité africaine du 10 septembre 1964;

Estime conformément à ladite resolution, que les mercenaires devraient être retirés d'urgence du Congo;

Encouragel'Organisation de l'unité africaine à République démocratique du Congo à réaliser la réconciliation nationale conformément à la résolution susmentionnée de l'Organisation de l'unité africaine;
5
Prie tous les Etats d'aider l'Organisation de l'unité

Prie l'Organisation de l'unité africaine, conformément à !'Article 54 de la Charte des Nations Unies, de tenir le Conseil de sécurité pleinement au courant de présente résolution;
7
Demande au Secrétaire général de l'Organisation de faire rapport au Conseil de sécurité au moment approprié.
