At its 44th plenary meeting, on 25 July 2023, the Economic and Social Council:

(a) Decided that the 2024 regular session of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations would be held from 22 to 31 January and on 9 February 2024, and its resumed session from 28 May to 5 June and on 14 June 2024;

(b) Approved the provisional agenda of the 2024 session of the Committee as set out below:

Election of officers.

Adoption of the agenda and other organizational matters.

Applications for consultative status and requests for reclassification received from non‑governmental organizations:

Applications for consultative status and requests for reclassification deferred from previous sessions of the Committee;

New applications for consultative status and new requests for reclassification;

Applications of non‑governmental organizations in consultative status that have merged with non‑governmental organizations without such consultative status.

Quadrennial reports submitted by non‑governmental organizations in consultative status with the Council:

Deferred quadrennial reports submitted by non‑governmental organizations in consultative status;

New quadrennial reports submitted by non‑governmental organizations in consultative status.

Strengthening of the Non-Governmental Organizations Branch.

Review of the methods of work of the Committee: implementation of Council resolution 1996/31, including the process of accreditation of representatives of non‑governmental organizations, and Council decision 1995/304:
