At its 46th plenary meeting, on 16 July 2014, the Economic and Social Council decided to approve the
amendment to the rules of procedure of the United Nations Group of Experts on Geographical Names proposed by
the Group of Experts, whereby section XII, rule 37, is replaced with the following text:
“XII. Public meetings
Rule 37
The meetings of the Group of Experts and meetings of its working groups shall be in public, unless it
decides otherwise.”.
