At its 46th plenary meeting, on 16 July 2014, the Economic and Social Council:

(a) Took note of the report of the Commission on Population and Development on its forty-seventh session,38 and decided to transmit it to the special session of the General Assembly, to be held during its sixty-ninth session, to assess the status of implementation of the Programme of Action of the International Conference on Population and Development and to renew political support for actions required for the full achievement of its goals;

(b) Approved the provisional agenda and documentation for the forty-eighth session of the Commission as set out below:

Election of officers.

Adoption of the agenda and other organizational matters.
