At its 37th plenary meeting, on 27 July 2009, the Economic and Social Council, having considered the report of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations on its 2009 regular session25 and draft decision IV contained therein, decided to grant special consultative status to the non-governmental organization Associação Brasileira de Gays, Lésbicas e Transgêneros.
