At its 48th plenary meeting, on 15 December 2006, the Economic and Social Council:

(a) Took note of the report of the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues on its fifth session;39

(b) Approved the provisional agenda and documentation for its sixth session as set out below:

Election of officers.

Adoption of the agenda and organization of work.

Special theme: territories, lands and natural resources.

Implementation of recommendations on the six mandated areas of the Permanent Forum and on the Millennium Development Goals:
