At its 41st plenary meeting, on 27 July 2006, the Economic and Social Council decided:

(a) To grant observer status to the intergovernmental organizations Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development40 and the South Centre;41

(b) To defer consideration of the application of the intergovernmental organizations Ramsar Convention42 and International Emergency Management Organization43 until its resumed substantive session.
