At its 37th plenary meeting, on 24 July 2006, the Economic and Social Council:

(a) Took note of the report of the Commission on Population and Development on its thirty-ninth session23 and decided to transmit the report to the High-level Dialogue on International Migration and Development, to be held during the sixty-first session of the General Assembly;

(b) Approved the provisional agenda for the fortieth session of the Commission as set out below:

Election of officers.24 1.

Adoption of the agenda and other organizational matters.
