At its 53rd plenary meeting, on 5 November 2004, the
Economic and Social Council decided to approve the
request of the Economic and Social Commission for
Western Asia to accept the invitation of the Government of
the Syrian Arab Republic to hold the twenty-third session
of the Commission in Damascus for three to four days in
April/May 2005.
