At its 47th plenary meeting, on 24 July 2003, the Economic and Social Council took note of resolution 2003/1 of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations on the implementation of the electronic meeting system “Paperless Committee”,68 and decided to implement the electronic meeting system referred to therein in future sessions of the Committee on a trial basis for a period of one year, with a view to its implementation on a permanent basis upon successful completion of the trial phase, and requested the Secretary- General to ensure the provision of adequate staff and facilities in order to implement the present decision.
