At its 46th plenary meeting, on 23 July 2003, the Economic and Social Council took note of Commission on Human Rights decision 2003/114 of 25 April 2003,54 and authorized eight fully serviced additional meetings, including summary records, in accordance with rules 29 and 31 of the rules of procedure of the functional commissions of the Council, for the Commission’s sixtieth session.

The Council approved the Commission’s decision to request the Chairperson of the sixtieth session of the Commission to make every effort to organize the work of the session within the time normally allotted so that the additional meetings authorized by the Council might be utilized only if they proved to be absolutely necessary.
