At its 46th plenary meeting, on 23 July 2003, the Economic and Social Council took note of Commission on Human Rights resolution 2003/64 of 24 April 2003,46 and approved the Commission’s decision to extend the mandate of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General on the situation of human rights defenders for a further three years, and also approved the Commission’s request that the Special
