At its 46th plenary meeting, on 23 July 2003, the Economic and Social Council took note of Commission on Human Rights resolution 2003/38 of 23 April 2003,46 authorized the open-ended intersessional working group of the Commission, with the mandate to elaborate a draft legally binding normative instrument for the protection of all persons from enforced disappearance, to meet for a period of ten working days before the sixtieth session of the Commission in order to continue its work, in accordance with Commission resolutions 2001/46 of 23 April 2001 and 2002/41 of 23 April 2002, and endorsed the Commission’s request that it report to the Commission at its sixtieth session.
