Authorizes the Secretary-General to enter into commitments for the establishment of four temporary posts in an amount not to exceed 1,140,000 United States dollars for the period from 1 April 1994 to 31 December 1995;

Also authorizes the Secretary-General to enter into commitments in an amount not to exceed 130,000 dollars for the period from 1 April to 30 June 1994 in connection with non-post requirements pending the submission by the Secretary-General of the report requested by the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions in its report. 1/

* At its 89th plenary meeting, on 14 February 1994, the General Assembly, on the proposal of its President, amended the title of agenda item 123 by deleting the word "proposed", in view of the fact that it had adopted the programme budget for the biennium 1994-1995 on 23 December 1993. The item now reads "Programme budget for the biennium 1994-1995".

** Consequently, resolution 48/228 of 23 December 1993 becomes resolution 48/228 A.
