Endorses the consultative arrangements, at the level of the Secretariat, envisaged by the Secretary- General on policy issues pertaining to planning, programming, budgeting and evaluation;

Requests the Joint Inspection Unit, in establishing its work programme for implementation of the recommendations of the Committee for Programme and Co-ordination regarding a study on the impact on the Secretariat of restructuring the economic and social sectors of the United Nations system, to be guided by the priorities identified in General Assembly resolution 35 /203 and to take into account the report of the Secretary-General;

Decides to revert to the question of adjustments in the functioning of the relevant entities of the Secretariat at its thirty-sixth session in the light of the report requested of the Secretary-General and the report of the Joint Inspection Unit.
