Takes note with appreciation of the report of the Secretary-General on publications and documentation33 and ,the related comments of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions;34

Endorses the criteria proposed by the Secretary- General in paragraph 14 of his report, as modified by the comments of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions, and invites the Secretary-General, on the basis of the recommendations made by the Advisory Committee in its report, to make the appropriate corrections in the budget of the United Nations for 1976-1977;

Requests the Secretary-General to apply the criteria, as appropriate and on an experimental basis, in the biennium 1976-1977;

Invites the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council and the Trusteeship Council to consider the application of the proposed criteria to their meeting records and to ensure that the meeting records of their subsidiary bodies conform to these criteria, taking into consideration the merits of each particular case;

Requests the Committee on Conferences to monitor the application of the criteria, to review, on the basis of appropriate consultations, the optimum requirements for records of bodies and organs of the United Nations, to report on progress made in applying the criteria and to make recommendations as required for consideration by the General A~bly.
