At its 88th plenary meeting, on 25 August 2025, the General Assembly, on the proposal of its President,60 as amended,61 recalling paragraph 9 of its resolution 78/318 of 16 July 2024 on the modalities of the “World Social Summit” under the title “the Second World Summit for Social Development”, decided to approve the participation of the non‑governmental organizations, civil society organizations, academic institutions and the private sector as listed in the annex to the present decision in the “World Social Summit” under the title “the Second World Summit for Social Development”, to be held pursuant to resolutions 78/261 of 26 February 2024 and 78/318.
