At its 31st plenary meeting, on 20 November 2019, the General Assembly decided, without setting a precedent, to invite Ms. Najat Maalla M’jid, Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Violence against Children, to deliver a statement on behalf of Ms. Maud de Boer-Buquicchio, Special Rapporteur on the sale and sexual exploitation of children, including child prostitution, child pornography and other child sexual abuse material, who had been invited to address the opening plenary meeting in accordance with resolution 73/301 of 20 June 2019.
