At its 2nd plenary meeting, on 20 September 2019, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the General Committee as set forth in its first report,26 adopted a number of provisions concerning the organization of the seventy-fourth session.
At the same meeting, the General Assembly took note of the information provided in paragraph 36 of the same report of the General Committee concerning debates on the items on its agenda.
Also at the same meeting, the General Assembly took note of the information provided in paragraph 43 of the same report of the General Committee concerning the conduct of the meetings of the plenary, including on the order and the format of statements.
Also at the same meeting, the General Assembly took note of the information provided in paragraph 52 of the same report of the General Committee concerning sponsorship of draft resolutions and decisions.
Also at the same meeting, the General Assembly took note of the information provided in paragraph 53 of the same report of the General Committee concerning rights of reply to addresses by Heads of State.
At its 39th plenary meeting, on 5 December 2019, the General Assembly, on the proposal of its President, decided to postpone the date of recess of the seventy-fourth session of the Assembly from Monday, 16 December 2019, to Tuesday, 24 December 2019.
At the same meeting, the General Assembly, at the request of the Chair of the Fifth Committee, decided to extend the work of the Committee until Tuesday, 24 December 2019.
At its 52nd (resumed) plenary meeting, on 24 December 2019, the General Assembly, on the proposal of its President, decided to further postpone the date of recess of the seventy-fourth session of the Assembly from Tuesday, 24 December 2019, to Friday, 27 December 2019.
At the same meeting, the General Assembly, at the request of the Chair of the Fifth Committee, decided to
further extend the work of the Committee until Friday, 27 December 2019.
