At its 70th plenary meeting, on 9 December 2015, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the Special Political and Decolonization Committee (Fourth Committee),50 taking note of the applications of six States Members of the United Nations for membership in the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space, as noted in the report of the Legal Subcommittee on its fifty-fourth session, held in Vienna from 13 to 24 April 2015,51 by a recorded vote of 155 to none, with 16 abstentions,52 decided to appoint those six Member States as members of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.53
