At its 64th plenary meeting, on 16 December 2005, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the Third Committee,78 took note of the following documents:

(a) Note by the Secretary-General transmitting the report of the Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on the use of mercenaries as a means of impeding the exercise of the right of peoples to self-determination;79
