At its 74th plenary meeting, on 27 March 2006, the General Assembly, on the basis of the nomination by the Economic and Social Council4 and in accordance with the annex to Council resolution 2008 (LX) of 14 May 1976 and paragraph 1 of Council resolution 1987/94 of 4 December 1987, elected ISRAEL to fill one of the two remaining seats for a term of office beginning on 27 March 2006 and expiring on 31 December 2008.

As a result, the Committee for Programme and Coordination is composed of the following thirty-three Member States: ALGERIA,** ARGENTINA,*** ARMENIA,*** BAHAMAS,*

CHINA,** COMOROS,* CUBA,*** FRANCE,* GHANA,** INDIA,*** INDONESIA,*** IRAN

At the same meeting, the General Assembly was informed that an election would be held at a later date, on the basis of the nomination by the Economic and Social Council, to fill the

remaining seat on the Committee for Programme and Coordination.
