At its 74th plenary meeting, on 20 December 2004, the General Assembly, on the recommendation of the Third Committee,71 took note of the following documents:

(a) Report of the Secretary-General on the preparations for the Eleventh United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice;72

(b) Report of the Secretary-General on strengthening international cooperation and technical assistance in preventing and combating terrorism;73

(c) Report of the Secretary-General on preventing and combating corrupt practices and transfer of funds of illicit origin and returning such assets to the countries of origin;74

(d) Report of the Secretary-General entitled “International cooperation in the fight against transnational organized crime: assistance to States in capacity-building with a view to facilitating the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime and the Protocols thereto”;75

(e) Note by the Secretary-General transmitting the report of the High-level Political Conference for the Purpose of Signing the United Nations Convention against Corruption, held in Merida, Mexico, from 9 to 11 December 2003.76
