At its 1st plenary meeting, on 10 September 2002, the General Assembly decided that, under item 10 of the provisional agenda, the Secretary-General would make a brief presentation of his annual report on the work of the Organization,14 prior to the opening of the general debate on

12 September 2002.

At its 10th plenary meeting, on 16 September 2002, the General Assembly decided to hear a statement by the President of the Economic and Social Council during the debate at the high-level plenary meeting of the Assembly to consider how to support the New Partnership for Africa’s Development.15

At its 19th plenary meeting, on 20 September 2002, the General Assembly, on the recommendations of the General Committee as set forth in its first report,16 adopted a number of provisions concerning the organization of the fifty-seventh session.
